A Book Stand Makes a Good Gift for Readers

A book stand is a real convenience for every real lover of books. Currently tendered models vary from straight forward wire creations such as the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at adjustable angles on any flat surface, to the ultimately sophisticated LEVO Bookholder that secures your book in either a floor stand design or a clamp-on model that securely fastens to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand designs function well with hardcovers, but most also can function very well with paperback books held in book holders like an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is among the least expensive of book stands. It folds compactly for easy storage and transport and comes with it’s own convenient pouch punched for use in a three ring binder. It can be placed on a countertop for cookbooks, or the top of your desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders swing from the back plane to hold your book open, and, by moving the arms either closer together or farther apart, smaller and larger books may be easily accommodated. The back of the stand has horizontal pieces that may be moved to vary the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.

The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor stand model, which includes a weighted base on casters for easy movement from bedside to treadmill to the couch, desk, table or counter top. Wherever you position it, it will position in just about any position. With a bookboard that swings, tilts, cants, yaws and rotates in any plane, and combined with a book mounting system that will securely hold your book, even in an inverted position, the LEVO makes reading truly hands-free practically anywhere.

The LEVO Clamp On design is just as convenient as its floor standing sibling, but features a clamp that firmly attaches to any desk, table, counter top, work bench or other flat surface up to 2 inches thick, and offers identical movements as the floor model, without the range of vertical telescoping movements. By supporting your reading materials off the surface to which it is secured, the desk design saves the weight and expense of the weighted floor base while freeing up work space, since your book doesn’t rest on the surface.

While there are other book stand designs available, the Fold’N'Stow and LEVO book stands have withstood the test of time and stand up well to constant use.
